banishing the beige
You all are probably already aware of this, but the Emily June Designs team loves maximalist design! However, this project that we are sharing today was completed using more of a classic design style. Classic design is perfect for our clients that want a clean and elegant look, but don’t necessarily want a minimalist design. Many of our clients love the look of classic design, because it is so timeless and we can add a modern twist however much our clients want us to!
before and after: kitchen
We had a plenty of beige to banish in this kitchen! An all white kitchen can be the perfect classic look, but adding in some color can make the space look unique. The blue color of the island really stands out against all of the white, and the green stools add a fun pop of color! A white kitchen doesn’t necessarily need to be ALL white!

While we are all about colorful design, many clients prefer the crips, clean look of a white kitchen… and that’s okay! There are plenty of ways to add depth and personality to a space while still achieving this monochromatic look. In this kitchen, the white backsplash tiles are glossy with a slight texture and a fun shape which helps to break up the space between the white upper and lower cabinets. The black hardware adds a sleek, modern look and is the perfect contrast to the white!

before and after: staircase
Due to water damage, this house needed a lot of help to bring it back to its original beauty! With the renovation of the stairs, we really focused on the storage underneath. By adding wallpaper into the back of this shelving, we created a fun space to store shoes, umbrellas, and backpacks! Making a space both beautiful and functional is our goal here at Emily June Designs.

before and after: living room
It’s amazing what color can do to a space! This room, just like the kitchen, gave us plenty of opportunity to banish the beige. By selecting new furniture and arranging it differently from before, we maximized this living space while also making it appear more open and inviting. It’s amazing what new furniture can do for a space!

Here at Emily June Designs, we love bringing new life to our clients antique pieces. This chair is an heirloom piece handed down by the client's great grandparents, and we had it reupholstered in a bold stripe fabric while still keeping the overall integrity and beauty of the carved wood! Using antiques in a classic design brings in that traditional influence, while we add our own touch to it!
before and after: bathroom
This children’s bathroom underwent a complete change, and the outcome is adorable! By using light colors, fun hardware and accessories, we designed a bathroom perfect for a kid. Also, how fun is the shape of this window?
