The Emily June Designs team hopped on a plane last Friday to visit High Point Market for a few days! If you're not familiar with High Point Market, it's the biggest event for home furnishings, held biannually in High Point, North Carolina. This market attracts over 75,000 designers, buyers, architects, and design professionals to this small town that transforms into a hub of creativity. The scale of the event is awe-inspiring, with shops and showrooms sprawling across 180+ buildings, encompassing a staggering 10 million square feet of space.

Our showroom adventures unveiled the latest trends, and we're bursting with excitement to share our fabulous finds with you! Stay tuned as we discuss the latest trends that promise to inspire and captivate.

color everywhere!

Captured at the Dovetail showroom during the debut of their stunning Dovetail Studio collection, this photo showcases a burst of vibrant colors and personality that have us totally captivated! It was refreshing to witness such colorful displays in so many showrooms, especially since we're all about banishing the beige.

patterned lamp shades

Visual Comfort and Schumacher have joined forces to unveil an adorable line of patterned shades for their light fixtures! We're eagerly anticipating their release because, let's face it, nothing beats a charming lampshade. Seeing these beauties in person sparked our creativity, and we're already envisioning how they'll elevate our future projects!

Our trip to the Pooky Lighting showroom was inspiring! We loved their playful lighting and lamp shades. They had a neat display in their showroom - a lamp carousel that showed how their different shades looked on various lamps. It was super helpful and got our creative juices flowing!

cordless lighting

We stumbled upon a bunch of cool new lighting options during this market. There are tons of cordless choices now, like floor and table lamps, wall sconces, and art lights! These products make it way easier to add a lamp to a bookshelf or put a floor lamp in a room without a plug nearby. It's a real game changer for lighting setups!

curves

We found a bunch of cool upholstery pieces with interesting shapes, like this sofa from Taylor King Furniture. The market had a lot of furniture with curved details, and it was neat to see how they used those shapes in different ways.

hammered metals

Hammered metals were a popular trend at this market, showing up in furniture and lighting fixtures alike. They give a handmade vibe and add a nice touch of texture to any space. We especially liked this wall sconce from Hudson Valley Lighting!
