In our most recent project that we completed, our team created a custom fireplace design that gives our client’s living room the perfect pop of color! Using the Cava White Mosaic tiles and a bright cobalt blue grout from La Nova Tile, we created a fireplace that is unforgettable. Using a colored tile in this design would have looked great, but using colored grout adds more interest and looks even better! Typically when people go bold with a paint color it’s on the walls, but why not switch it up and use that color on the ceiling? Choosing a fun color for the ceiling can draw your attention upward, and it is the perfect opportunity to highlight a fun light fixture up there. This design by Home Ec. features the most beautiful green ceiling that is definitely the focal point of the room! If you have a lot of color in a space such as in your furniture, rugs and accessories, painting the ceiling a bold color instead of the walls is a great way to balance the room out. Painting doors in your home is a super simple way to add color into you life! This design by Redd Kaihoi proves that a bright door can add just the right amount of color to a space. When choosing a color for your doors, it is important to make sure that color will coordinate well with the color of the walls in the rooms on both sides of the doors. In this design, the blue and yellow work so well together that we couldn’t imagine it any other way!

Including the windows when painting a room can take a design to the next level, and can make the room look more cohesive.

5. why only choose one color when you can choose all of them!

Tranisition spaces in your home can be the perfect opportunity to add color, because these spaces can often be overlooked. Not anymore! Entry ways, stairways, and hallways are great areas to have fun with color, because they are small spaces with high traffic. Small spaces force us to be creative with design, just like Melissa Romeo-Cad did with this staircase! This is such a fun idea!

6. monochromatic isn’t boring if you do it like this!

A “cloffice” is the perfect space to add the perfect color! (Read last week’s blog post on why we love a closet/office design for a small work space) Going big and monochromatic with the color choice in a small space is a good way to make it feel larger. This design by 2LG Studio is amazing proof that a monochromatic space can be just as fun as a space filled with colors and patterns!

Did we save the best idea for last? I think so! Painting a piano may be kind of a crazy idea, but it is definitely a unique way to add color to your home! This design by Home Ec. features a piano painted by Frankie Zombie, and we are so obsessed.
