2022 trend predictions

Happy New Year from the Emily June Designs team! It’s hard to believe that 2022 is already here, but we want to wish everyone a safe, happy and healthy year.

With a new year comes new trends and we want to share some of our favorite design trend predictions with you! Keep reading to learn about some trends that we think will make a splash in 2022.

1. curved detail lines

Big and bold curved lines will continue to be a popular choice for furniture in 2022! Organic lines help to soften up a space which is great when trying to achieve a design that is comfortable and relaxing. I think it is obvious why this trend will be so popular this year!

2. brown is back

Brown has suddenly made a bold reappearance in recent trends, and we are here for it! Adding in brown tones with textiles and accessories is a great way to warm up a space, and using deep wood tones can help give that effect too. At Emily June Designs we always say “banish the beige” because we are color lovers, but we can definitely get behind this trend in 2022.

3. mixing the old with the new

At Emily June Designs, we love incorporating antiques into our designs because we find that it adds character to a space and gives our designs a little extra meaning. Mixing old and new things in a design is definitely not a new idea, but we have seen a rise in appreciation for antique objects. 2022 will be a year that more and more people find a love for incorporating antiques into their homes, and we are here for it!

4. biophilic design

Because so many of us have been inside the house more than we would like over the past couple of years, many people have realized that they want more natural elements incorporated into their homes. Biophilic design is the perfect solution for this issue! In 2022 we will see an increase in using natural light and ventilation, and incorporating plants and outside views to create a connection with nature.
