There are many designs that we love and draw some form of inspiration from, and we want to share some of those designs with you today! Designing a living room can be one of the most challenging yet fun spaces in a home, because there are so many elements that go into these spaces. Living rooms are where families spend a lot of time together, as well as where people usually welcome guests into their home. It is important to give this space a personality that reflects your own and tells a story… who wants to live in a home that doesn’t reflect their own personal style?

colorful and calming
This living room design was done by Corey Damen Jenkins for the 2019 Kips Bay Showhouse. This design has been one of our favorites for a while because of his beautiful use of color and texture! One of Corey’s tips for when you may be stuck on where to go next in a design is to look to nature for inspiration, and that is definitely an obvious inspiration of his for this design!

whimsical and bold
Jonathan Adler’s living room is something straight out of a dream! His use of color is so refreshing, and the large scale of the chandeliers (among other details) gives this space such a whimsical feeling that we love. This bright space is highlighted by the abundance of natural light, making it the perfect space to relax and rejuvenate!

bright and funky
This living room belongs to shoe designer Minna Parikka, and it is packed with personality! Her use of pattern and fun furniture pieces definitely makes her home an escape from the mundane. We are loving the large-scale art that is the focal point of the room!

eclectic and inspiring
Studio Munroe, based in San Francisco, designed this incredible space for House Beautiful’s “Whole Home” showhouse! Their use of color in this living space is amazing, and we are living for the statement wallpaper that surrounds the fireplace. This living room is so inspiring and looks like such a fun space to spend time with friends and family!

lively and fun
Justina Blakeney, the founder and creative director of Jungalow, designed this gorgeous living room space! She says she likes to fill her home with color, patterns, and things that bring her joy… something that we can definitely relate to! Her use of plants in this space adds a natural detail that really elevates the space and gives it a lively feeling.
