before and after: global bedroom

Before and after photos of interior design projects are always satisfying to see! These before and after photos are from the primary bedroom of our Global project, and we want to share all of the details with you. It is so rewarding to have the final photos of a design project, because so much time, planning, and creativity goes into every single little detail.

These clients originally contacted us to design their primary bathroom which overtime has turned into us designing their whole home! Our goal was to implement their love for traveling into their home by designing with a worldly style that can be seen throughout every room in the house. The clients wanted us to create a very zen bedroom space without using too much red and without it being too minimal. So, we decided on a deep blue color palette with pops of red here and there since blue is known for being a calming color. Thats perfect for a bedroom!

Before

Prepare yourself, because the after photos of this bedroom space are mind-blowing. We love a blank canvas to begin the design process!

After!

It doesn’t even look like the same room! The Emily June Designs team understands the importance of having the perfect interior for you and your lifestyle. From the concept phase to the install day, we are in constant communication with our clients to provide them with the design of their dreams!

Using a large mix of color, patten and texture in this room, we created a worldly design that perfectly reflects the style that our clients love! We used both wall paint and wallpaper in this room to create a more layered look and to highlight the unique ceiling shape in the space. We used side tabes with rattan for more of a natural element, and by using two different night stands instead of a pair of matching ones, we avoided making the area too symmetrical. Making a space overly symmetrical can lead to the design feeling too structured, and we don’t want that!

Maximize Your Space

Your bedroom should be your sanctuary, your escape, your space to relax and unwind from the day! Adding a seating area in your bedroom can create a more cozy environment, and increases the functionality of the space. A seating area provides you with a space to put your shoes on or read your favorite book, and we provided our clients with this corner chair in a fun Schumacher fabric. The clients enjoy meditation, so we created empty space in the floor plan to allow for this near the seating area. We also incorporated textiles that the couple found during their travels by making a throw blanket and a pillow out of them!

By adding a large area rug, layered bedding and fun throw pillows, we made this space comfortable and relaxing just like a bedroom should be! Maximizing comfort in a space ensures that our clients are satisfied in their home.

Don’t Ignore The Transition Spaces

Instead of just focusing on one room at a time, it is important to think about how spaces work together to create one cohesive design. In this design, the bathroom was actually the first room that our clients wanted us to design. It was important that we created a unique transition between these two contrasting spaces in order to create balance, and we did this by adding a custom door that is just as fun as every other element in these spaces!

We used blackout shades from The Shade Store and incorporated one of their funky prints to add another pattern to this room in a unique way. Blackout shades are perfect in the bedroom for those days that you just need to sleep in! Using organic sheets and bedding and a vintage burl wood headboard from Chairish, we were able to keep a very natural feel to this design. The bed has a low profile which continues that global influence that our clients love!

Last Step: Accessorize!

In our interior design process, accessorizing is the final and possibly most important step! No space is truly finished without carefully curated accessories that reflect the client’s personality and interests. This couple loves to read, so we have accessorized using books. They have plenty of them!
