behind the scenes of ejd

So far, 2021 has brought a lot of change and growth for the Emily June Designs team! One of the biggest changes has been moving and settling into our new office space. Located just off of Westheimer and Shepherd, we are right in the middle of all of the excitement! We have spent a while unpacking and having things painted, installed and moved, but now we feel right at home. It is so exciting to finally be able to give y’all a look into the space that we get to work in everyday!

presentation room

from our monday morning meetings to design presentations with clients, this room gets a lot of use!

When you first walk into our office, you are welcomed by our show stopping presentation room! This room is an important space in our office because it is where our clients first get a glimpse of what our style is here at Emily June Designs. We paired a traditional burled wood table with modern Panton chairs to give the space our signature eclectic look! Our ceiling features a bold floral wallpaper from Kristy Stafford, and a light fixture from Hudson Valley Lighting. We had to go bold with the ceiling, because too much color and pattern on the walls would distract from our presentation boards, and that’s what this room is all about! We like our clients to be able to see all of their selections pinned up on the boards so that they can get an idea of what everything will look like in their home. Having white walls as a blank canvas to be able to do that is perfect!

library

sourcing materials for projects is so much easier now that we have a whole room dedicated to our library!

Our library is where we spend our time sourcing materials for our projects! Fabric, wallpaper, tile, paint: you name it, and we have a sample! We have a collection of so many fun colors and patterns, so it is important to keep them organized. We like to organize our fabrics by color, but possibly our favorite bin is labeled our “YOLO” bin which contains all of our fun multicolored fabrics! You only live one, so why not go with a crazy colorful fabric? Since interior design is such a visual process, having a library of physical samples is so helpful throughout all phases of the project. You can’t always trust how colors and textures look online!

powder bath

we love the bold design of our bathroom, it adds so much character to such a small space!

No space is complete without a bathroom, so why not go all out with the design? We used another Kristy Stafford wallpaper in this room because we just can’t get enough of her beautiful patterns, we want to use them everywhere! The vanity top is the Rose Bay quartz from Cambria and it adds such a fun detail to the bathroom, especially paired with that fun brass faucet. This room is the perfect little glimpse into our love of mixing elements in a design!

When designing our office, our goal was to create a space that feels like home to not only us, but to our clients as well. Our office is meant to be our little space full of inspiration! How could we not be inspired when we work in such a fun office?
