Monochromatic designs can be hard to achieve, but when they are done right the outcome is amazing! At Emily June Designs, we love to mix colors, patterns and textures in our designs. However, when achieving a monochromatic color scheme, you only need to focus on one color family! Monochromatic designs really puts focus on balancing different shades of one color, while playing with patterns and textures that add depth to the space. Keep reading to see some of our favorite designs done with a monochromatic scheme!

cozy crimsons

Crimson is such a rich color, so when used abundantly in this room it creates such a cozy space! This earthy red tone makes for a sophisticated space with a feeling of stateliness and makes such a bold statement. The velvet textures of the textiles add depth to the space and make it appear even more luxurious!

pretty pinks

Pink wall, pink floors, pink millwork, pink ceiling… it’s all pink and we are loving it! This bathroom feels nostalgic with a touch of femininity and tranquility. The floor-to-ceiling wall tiles add texture to the space while keeping with the color scheme!

captivating corals

Coral is a color that isn’t seen much in monochromatic designs, but we are loving this one! With the natural light and this vibrant color, this space stimulates energy and catches the eye.

optomistic oranges

This powder bathroom is full of vibrant oranges and it creates such a happy space. Orange colors usually increase feelings of optimism and enthusiasm, and this design is full of it! How adorable is that hardware on the sink?

glamorous golds

Gold is such a gorgeous color but we usually see it used as an accent color. Not in this room! This color is linked to feelings of extravagance and quality, and this design completely embodies that. The flowing drapes and the rich velvet upholstery of the sofa is the perfect contrast of texture even though they are the same color!

youthful yellows

A bedroom is a place for relaxing and rejuvenation, and this yellow color is perfect to have you feeling refreshed! Soft yellows feel gentle and soft, and that is exactly how you want to feel when you are cozied up in bed. The brighter yellows of the headboard and nightstand pop perfectly against the pale yellow wallpaper!

cinematic citrons

This citron color is gorgeous and it gets all the attention by being in the kitchen among all of the natural light! Citron colors are known to represent happiness and enthusiasm; perfect for the kitchen! The glass chandelier makes a statement while still letting the overall citron color have its moment in the spotlight.

gorgeous greens

Along with all of the greens in this room, the patterns are amazing as well! Green is linked to nature and protectiveness which can give bedrooms a safe and secure atmosphere. The patterns in this space are the perfect mix while staying consistent with the color!

tasteful turquoises

We didn’t know we needed a turquoise dining room until now! Evoking feelings of calmness and reflection, turquoise is the perfect color choice for a dining room meant to gather with friends and family. The fireplace is still a focal point in the room while still remaining the same color as the walls and furniture!

terrific teals

This lounge area feels so relaxing because of the deep teal colors covering the room! Teal colors are often used in living spaces because it is a sophisticated color that represents feelings of restfulness. The gold accents in this room make the teal color even more amazing.

beautiful blues

We love a colorful kitchen, and these blue cabinets, hardware and tiles create the perfect blue space! This cobalt blue color feels electric and pops so well against the white. The kitchen is the perfect space for this bold color because it gets so much attention, and the natural sunlight acts as a spotlight for this space!

picturesque periwinkles

This space is periwinkle floor-to-ceiling which makes it so unique and fun! Since periwinkle is a muted color between the blue and purple families, it has a calming effect while also making a space feel lighthearted. Even though they are the same color, the smooth wall surfaces contrast against the rough texture of the ceiling!

vibrant violets

We are obsessed with all of the beautiful purples in this design, even down to the trim! Purple colors represent royalty and spirituality, and that is definitely apparent in this design. We love how this color is continued into the other spaces of this design as well!
