eclectic bedroom: before and after
Before and after photos are the best because it allows us to visualize just how much a space can be transformed throughout our interior design process, and it is so rewarding to see the finished project! At Emily June Designs, we believe that everyone deserves to live in the home of their dreams, and we are here to make those dreams come true. If you want to learn about the behind the scenes of our eclectic bedroom project, keep reading and we hope you enjoy the transformation!
One of the most common questions we get asked about this project is “what paint color is that green??”. We used Benjamin Moore’s Huntington Green, and it makes for the perfect backdrop for the bed while also making a bold statement. Opting for an accent wall in a bedroom is always a fun idea, and putting an accent wall behind the bed is a great way to ground that area and make it the focal point of the room.
Maximalism is our favorite which means that we love the look of an eclectic design with many layers and lots of depth. One of the ways that we went about achieving the eclectic look in this room was by layering with colors and textures and playing around with different materials. For the larger pieces such as the bedding, the rug and the sofa, we decided to use neutral colors as kind of a base for the room, which then allowed for us to layer colorful textiles with the pillows, drapes, upholstery and accessories. By using all of these layers we were able to create a space with a lot of interest while still making it a cozy space to relax and unwind!

Since we opted for such a bold green color behind the bed, we wanted to brighten up the rest of the space with a white color on the walls and ceiling. This bedroom has such a large window and we really wanted to maximize the natural light in this space, and what better way to do that than to let the sunlight reflect off of bright white walls? This little alcove is perfect for a small seating area, so we updated this space with a new sofa in a neutral color and then brightened it up with some fun pillows and throws. If you have the space for it, adding a seating area into a bedroom is a great way to break up the space and create a secondary space for relaxing. It is also an excuse to add more pillows, which we are always down for!
