flatlay friday

We are feeling inspired this week so we wanted to put together a few flat-lays and explain our thought process behind each scheme that we developed!

bold + playful

Mixing colors and patterns is our favorite thing to do here at Emily June Designs, so creating schemes like this is so fun! When mixing patterns, we like to pay close attention to the scale of the patterns we will be using in a space. The large scale of the pattern on the Pierre Frey fabric pairs perfectly with the small scale of the pattern on the Serena Dugan fabric, which also goes well with the medium scale of the pattern on the Schumacher fabric! It’s all about balance!

vintage + floral

This wallpaper is giving us major vintage vibes, so we mixed in some geometric patterns for some contrast! The floral and paisley patterns have more of a traditional vibe while the geometric patterns add a bit of a modern touch, and the combination of different textures makes this a well-balance combo!

youthful + fun

How fun would this scheme look in a little girl’s bedroom? The repetition of the pink, orange and red colors makes this scheme a bit “matchy” but that’s can be a fun look to go for especially when designing a kid’s space!

neutral + textured

We always say that blue is the new neutral! The hints of red and blue in this scheme make it just colorful enough while still sticking to the neutral look. If you are going for a more neutral design, incorporating different textures is a great way to add more variation to a space!

whimsical + colorful

The prints in this flatlay are all very whimsical but they work so well together! We aren’t afraid to mix bright colors, in fact it’s quite the opposite as you can probably tell. Life is more fun with color!
