not all art can be framed

Have you ever wondered how to accessorize your walls in a way that isn’t hanging up framed art? Well the options are endless! There are so many things that you can hang on your walls to elevate a space other than framed art pieces including textiles, mirrors, and decorative baskets.

add some texture with a juju hat

This room has a very layered look with lots of colors, patterns and textures, so we wanted to go more simple with the walls in this room. We chose a fun green color for the accent wall, and white for the rest, and then finished by hanging minimal art. On the wall behind the bed we hung up two juju hats, one above each night stand. The white feathers bring even more texture to the space and are the perfect contrast against the bright green!

add a pop of color with baskets

Hanging baskets on the wall is the perfect way to add both color and texture to your space! Even if you want to go for more neutral baskets, they are still a great way to add texture to your walls. This colorful design wouldn’t be the same without the fun addition to the walls!

add a youthful touch by displaying collectibles

We wanted to find the perfect way to display or client’s collection of action figures, and these lucite wall boxes were that perfect fit! The contrast of the red against the dark blue walls makes these pieces stand out in the room while still being protected within the box. This method doesn’t just work for action figures though, you could display any kind of collectibles in these boxes to give them a more special purpose in your home!

add some character with colorful dinnerware

Displaying china and dinnerware isn’t a new concept, but this design makes it look like a genius new idea! A shallow ledge along the wall is a good way to display art, so why can’t you do it with plates too?

add a touch of whimsy with hats

Do you have a large collection of hats? Hang them on the wall because who says you can’t! A collection like this will fill up your walls fast but it will add texture and interest to any space.

add some sparkle with mirrors

Mirrors are such a fun addition to a good gallery wall! Mixing in mirrors with art adds a bit of variety when creating a gallery wall, especially if you play around with using different sizes and shapes together on one wall.
