stained-glass serenity

Stained glass is an art that can be traced all the way back to the 7th century, and for hundreds of years was used primarily to depict religious scenes to be displayed in churches. Now stained glass is a lot more common, and it is a fun and beautiful way to add color and character to your home! There are many ways you can use stained glass within your home: here are just a few!

breakfast booth bliss

Built-in breakfast nooks are usually one of the most unique ways someone can personalize their dining space. Adding this fun stained glass window into the design makes this space even more special!

The bold wall paint colors tie in perfectly with the painting and colors in the stained glass! This allows the design to flow smoothly without overwhelming the space. The natural wood tones really allow these bright paint shades to speak for themselves and gives this space a classic touch!

butler’s pantry beauty

If you have never seen a butler’s pantry with a stained glass transom window? You have now! This energizing design is bound to make any guest feel light and happy. This transom window is an excellent way of opening up the space and connecting this pantry to the kitchen, while also allowing for natural light to flood the space. How many times have you been searching for something in your pantry but it’s too dark to see anything? Not in here!

Many homes feature smaller pantries that are hidden from the eyes, but the wallpaper, the colors, and the window all make this small room a big part of the overall design! We absolutely love how this designer managed to combine all of these colors and patterns perfectly. When life gives you lemons, put a stained glass window in too!

staircase sophistication

This darker and more traditional design features tall stained glass windows at a staircase landing. The placement of these windows allow for light to enter this dark area and also brings a bit of color into the space with the purple flowers! The designs within these windows have a classic floral pattern that gives this already sophisticated space a more elegant feeling. The dark neutral tones within this design also allow for these windows to stand out because they include the only color within the space!

family room flashiness

This bright purple design includes nothing but beautiful details, from the matching textured sofa and arm chair to the patterned pillows and throw blanket. This, of course, includes the stained glass windows!

These windows have a frame of yellow glass that contrasts against the purple walls and ties in with the yellow details of the throw blanket and the pillows on the sofa. This design is a perfect example of how to mix a variety of colors and patterns within one space. Don’t be afraid to try out some color if you love this design as much as we do!

library liveliness

These stained glass sliding panels give the homeowner the choice of opening up this space or keeping it private! These panels are functional while also acting as a piece of art for the space. Everything about these panels coordinate with the color palette of this design: the yellow glass matches the window trim, the blue matches the ceiling color, and the red flowers match the red walls!

The artwork of the bookcases and lighting choices add layers to this colorful room! Separating books on large shelves is a must, because this avoids making the bookcase feeling crowded and cluttered. From this picture we have a view of a table lamp as well as a hanging pendant light. Layering the lighting in your design is a simple way of leveling up your office space!

front door fabulousness

This stained glass door not only acts as a form of privacy for the homeowner, it also acts as a centerpiece for the entry. Before a guest even walks into this home, they know this owner has a unique and colorful style! Stained glass tends to be associated with more traditional designs but look how modern this door looks with the color and pattern choice! This neutral wallpaper and soft blue trim allow the door to steal the spotlight and make a statement of its own. This door feels like a rainbow after a storm next to this cloud-like wallpaper!

No need for an art piece in your entryway when your door is already a work of art! If you love doors with glass and don’t have enough space to display artwork this may be something to consider. Interesting planters like the ones pictured here are also something to add to your front entrance to give the space some more personal touches!

entry extravagance

This design features another entry way with stained glass but this one includes an entire wall! The warmth of the green and yellow glass really brings the outdoors in, making the space seem summery and airy. This is also an excellent way to make your entryway bright and sunny! In addition to the warm colors and large amounts of natural light, a plant was place at the entrance to really emphasize “bringing the outdoors in”. This stained glass wall also emphasizes the slope of the ceiling that these circular pendant lights hang from and makes this space even more unique!
