Kips Bay Show House Tour in Dallas 2024
This year marks the 5th annual Kips Bay Decorator Show House in Dallas! From October 25th to November 13th, the show house is open to the public with an admission of $50. If you are in the area and have some time to look at beautiful interiors and benefit a great cause, we highly recommend attending. Every time we get to tour any of the houses, we are left with so much inspiration! With show houses in New York, Dallas, and Palm Beach, designers get to show off their exquisite designs with all proceeds going towards amazing non-profit organizations. As in the previous years, proceeds for the show houses benefit The Crystal Charity Ball of Dallas, Dwell with Dignity of Dallas, and Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club of New York.
We are so delighted to have been invited to the private preview of the 5th Annual Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas! This past Friday we got to indulge in a private tour of the house before it opened to the public and enjoyed brunch at The Mansion Restaurant afterwards. Thank you to Luxe Magazine and Kravet for hosting the most fabulous day!
Bibliotheque des Tounesols
Also known as room of the sunflowers! We loved the mix of opulent antiques with very modern art - and the antique Baccarat crystal chandelier had us mesmerized! Sherry Hayslip is a designer in the Dallas area specializing in “chic, refined style balanced with an unapologetic sense of indulgence”, and we think this room embodies just that! Sherry shared that her husband, Cole Smith, was the architect of the show house building this year that was originally built in 2004.

La Chambre d’Enfants
Fellow Houstonian, Katie Davis did a spectacular job curating this kids bedroom. We always lover her eye for mixing patterns and colors, especially with the scalloped tented ceiling which made the space feel so cozy and warm with that extra layer. We absolutely loved the whimsical artwork that she incorporated by Mary Maguire!

Le Salon de Musique
Maestri Studio did an amazing job at creating this airy music room! The burl wood wall panels by the Wood Gallery made the room feel cozy and warm while also light and bright from the reflection of the natural light. It is such an unexpected moment but creates a secure feeling with the arched look. The vinyl record console was so beautiful and the music really set the mood for the space. The unique window coverings and framed cornice gave the room a relaxed feeling to the space!

Femme Fumoir
This isn’t her first rodeo for designer Traci Connell when it comes to the Kips Bay Show House. Traci knows what it takes to fabricate a breath taking room, as she has previously designed a room in the 2021 Dallas show house. While staying true to the French influence of the home, Traci incorporated different items and details like the 1800s marble mantel and shell sink. The fireplace wall was stunning with so many intricate details. We surely loved the paint color choices from Benjamin Moore and all of the elegant brass details. Also, a built in coffee maker for all the espresso martinis? Yes please! What more can you ask for in this perfect femme fumoir?

English Garden
This bedroom was designed by Dallas designer Lisa Henderson, and she designed it with the intention of being the guest retreat. What guest wouldn’t want to stay in this bright and fresh bedroom? We love her creative use of pattern like the fun scalloped detail that is carried throughout the room along with the layered lighting selections.

The Venus Drawing Room
The pink high gloss ceiling was captivating and did a great job of highlighting the beautiful chandelier from Arteriors. In case you’re wondering, the ceiling paint is Benjamin Moore Coastal Cottage 1164. You’re welcome! We loved how the custom pillow details were small but mighty. It definitely added another layer of detailed perfection to the room! This small snug room really makes for the perfect feminine drawing room.

Le Salon du Champagne
The Champagne Salon was designed by Trish Sheats of Fort Worth. The fireplace millwork from Casci Ornamental Plaster was like a work of art and very pleasing to the eye! Another detail we loved was the wall mural from Gracie which bring so much elegance and made a big impact in this space. Loved the shape of this custom banquette with the Cowtan & Tout fabric! Through the middle window is a spectacular view of the terrace garden designed by Lambert Landscape Company.

The Whimsical Drawing Room
We loved the playful take on a drawing room designed by Heather and Matt French. The the mix of modern art in a more traditional space was fun and unexpected. The natural light in this space really highlighted the designer’s gorgeous use of color, especially on the stunning hand painted wallpaper. We also love the detail of the upholstered fabrication on the ceiling to created that tented look!

The Citrus Garden
We always love Courtnay's use of fun millwork details to add a custom flair to her designs. "This kitchen is for dancing" sums up how this space made us feel! Every little detail was most definitely accounted for and it shows. How fabulous are those details on the custom island by Segreto? Truly a feast for the eyes is what this kitchen is!

The New Nostalgia: A Midwest Memory
Designer Victoria Sass reimagined her Minnesota childhood home in the most beautiful way, and we cannot get over this fabulous custom upholstered desk. The wall to wall carpet is giving us just that - nostalgia. The cabinets along the wall really give a fun surprise when opened. A jewel box of Benjamin Moore Cucumber 428 and a stocked bar are ready at your service!
