neutral + colorful ... you can have both!

The Emily June Designs team is here to banish the beige, but that may look different for everyone! Our team wants each and every person to love their home and be proud of the space that they live in. Whether you like neutrals, bright colors, or a more muted color palette, the Emily June Designs team is here to bring your vision to life!

We want to show you that neutral spaces don’t have to look boring or plain! There are so many different ways to incorporate color into a neutral space.

This room is the perfect example of an “Elevated Neutral” type of design. The white walls, wood floor and natural rug create a neutral canvas for the furniture and accessories to really stand out! The easiest and fastest way to add color and personality to a neutral space is by hanging up some fun art! In this room, the art is the focal point of the room when you walk in, and if you are trying to go for the same effect, choosing art that speaks to you and your personality is important. Using textiles with fun patterns is our favorite way to add color to a space, and choosing patterns that you love will make you love your space more too!

We took this kitchen from a sea of beige countertops, cabinets and paint to an elegant and bright space! The white cabinets make the blue island stand out even more, and the two colors create a good balance! The blue island and the green stools bring some color into the space so that the design doesn’t get washed out with too much white. Mixing metals is also a good way to elevate a neutral space! The black cabinet hardware mixed with the chrome and brass accents creates a good mix that may not be super obvious at first, but it adds interest to the space.

When designing any space, finding a good balance is important, and that balance can look different for every family and every home. At Emily June Designs, we work closely with our clients every step of the way to make sure that good balance is found, and in return our clients end up with the home of their dreams!

add color with florals

This kitchen space is so soft and dreamy, and it is the perfect neutral mix! Instead of pairing white cabinets with white countertops, opting for a wood countertop like this designer did is the perfect way to warm up a space! The brass cabinet hardware paired with the chrome faucet is a small detail that adds even more character. Also, adding color to literally any space can be so easy with the use of florals!
