paint colors with emily june
Here at Emily June Designs we always hear the same question: “what paint color is that?” Whether it is a wall paint, cabinet paint or ceiling paint, we love to go for the bold color palettes! Keep reading to explore some of our favorite paint colors that we have used throughout our designs, and learn some ways that we use paint to enhance spaces!
Benjamin Moore: 406 Huntington Green
What’s a better way to incorporate color into a space than with an accent wall? If you don’t want to commit to painting all four walls in a room, an accent wall is a good way to add just the perfect pop of color! Painting an accent wall usually makes that area of the room the focal point. In this design, for example, we painted the wall behind the bed because we wanted the bed to be the focal point of the room! A bold paint color will catch your attention and become a sort of backdrop for the room design. Choosing a color that fits into the design is important, but we still like to be a bit “unexpected” with our choices!
Benjamin Moore: 812 Blueberry Hill
The real star of the show in this design is the wallpaper from The Pattern Collective, but the blue Benjamin Moore paint that we paired it with totally sets the stage! By painting the walls, doors and trim all in the same color, we created a blank canvas for this space to really pop. Since the wallpaper on the ceiling is a busy pattern and there is a lot of “things” in the room, the deep toned walls create a stark separation between the ceiling and the floor which also allows the small details in the room to stand out!
Benjamin Moore: HC-136 Waterbury Green
We love incorporating a fun color into a kitchen! In this kitchen design we used Benjamin Moore Waterbury Green on the lower cabinets, and kept it neutral with a white color for the upper cabinets. Opting for two-tone cabinets like this is a great solution if you are wanting to add color to your kitchen but don’t necessarily want to paint all the cabinets a bold color. Don’t be afraid of color in your kitchen!
Benjamin Moore: 1651 New Providence Navy
A dark navy paint color proved to be the perfect color choice for this serene primary bedroom! Blue is a calming color which makes it ideal for spaces such as living rooms and bedrooms. We paired this paint color with a fun Kelly Wearstler wallpaper that highlights the vaulted ceiling and adds some fun lines to the space. Finding the perfect balance of color and pattern in a space is important. We used neutral colors for the wall paint, wallpaper and window treatments which allowed us to go more bold with the colors of the rug and accessories!
